Belden Invested $40 million U.S. Dollars to Build

New Suzhou Plant -The Largest Factory Outside of America

Adding 500 New Jobs in Kunshan Area

Belden has built the largest facility outside the Americas in Suzhou, China, with total land area of 100,000 square meters. With approximately $40 million U.S. dollars of investment to build this new plant, it is anticipated to generate over $220 million U.S. dollars of revenue per year when fully ramped up. The plant supports the production and sales of Belden’s copper cables, an essential element of Belden’s signal transmission solutions, under brand names such as LTK, Belden, Thermax etc.

Despite the recent global financial tsunami, Belden continues its global expansion in the China and Asia markets with the finest equipment and state-of-the-art facilities. John Stroup, President and CEO of Belden, expressed confidently, “I’m excited about Belden’s new business development in China. Belden products can be found in Huawei communications product, Nintendo Wii game stations and Sony LCD televisions.

In awards, Belden acquired ISO9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004 issued by BASEC, ISO/TS16949:2002 issued by SGS and certificate of GP (Green Partner) issued by Sony. In social responsibility, Belden is the first cable manufacturer in the world to pass RSCS by UL, which means all raw materials, semi-products and final products have passed the standard of environment regulations.

During the opening ceremony on March 9, 2009, Mr. John Stroup, President and CEO of Belden, and Mr. Naresh Kumra, President of Asia Pacific Division explained the development plan and marketing strategies of Belden in China as well as the global sales overview.

Key government officials like Mr. Zhou, Xuerong, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC & Deputy Mayor of Kunshan Municipal People’s Government and Mr. Shen Huafei, Deputy Secretary of The Party Committee & Deputy Director of The Administration Committee of Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, Kunshan Jiangsu have attended the event together with other government officials.
